The last two weeks have been very intense for most of my clients. The issue of the new Italian gaming law licenses which had been suspended because of the claim brought by StanleyBet has now started!
Operators that had waited for the entire summer hoping to receive good news can now celebrate. Indeed, most of the 16 operators which had passed step one of the license application process before the summer, have now been awarded with the license.
However, this does not mean that they can now relax, the gaming account system, the game platforms and each category of games need to go through a time consuming authorization process that requires the provision to AAMS of very detailed technical reports. Additionally, operators need to pass the final test (the so called “collaudo”) relating to the protocol of communication managing the gaming account system and each of the categories of games that they intend to offer.
