The Internet of Things (IoT) applied to the industrial sector through the so called Industry 4.0 will bring new challenges for Italian companies.
Here is the 4th major event organised by IoTItaly, the Italian association on the Internet of Things, together with the University of Milan. The event is named “Internet of Things and Industry 4.0: Strategies to increase competitiveness” and aims at analysing the impact of the IoT on the industrial sector.
As previously discussed, the Industry 4.0 is also called the “4th industrial revolution” and refers to the development of technologies able to be “smart” by means of sensors which communicate information between machines that are interconnected in order to, among others, prevent failures and increase efficiency.
The digital innovation in industrial sector through the smart manufacturing is a rapidly evolving process which will generate, according to the estimates of Accenture, $ 14.2 trillion by 2030.
The Italian Ministry of Economic Development with the Industry 4.0 program and the Italian government with the Italy 4.0 plan are promoting the industrial revolution, fostering investments in Industry 4.0 technologies as described in this blog post.
The event is free and will take place from 2.30 pm on 6 December 2016 at the Kilometro Rosso Scientific technological parkย at via Stezzano, 87, 24126 in Bergamo (Italy) and will include among its speakers
