The Milan IAPP KnowledgeNet organized a webinar to discuss the main privacy challenges of COVID-19 emergency.
Since January 2020, I am among the co-chairs of the Milan IAPP KnowledgeNet, and among the initiatives recently launched, we created a WhatsApp channel where 50+ data protection experts discuss privacy issues, and we had planned to have regular think tank meetings.
Given the current COVID-19 emergency, we now turned these meetings in webinars where participants will share their views. And the topic of this webinar will be the current COVID-19 emergency that led local authorities to foster the collection of data relating to infected individuals, while the Garante is banning any sort of indiscriminate processing of employees and visitorsโ data.
Open questions have arisen on how to handle communications related to infected employees and the tracking of their contacts as well as the management of phase 2 of the emergency when employees will return to their offices.
The webinar will follow an online think tank round table format where there will be an attendee discussion moderated by Giulio Coraggio, Partner, DLA Piper, and Christian Bernieri, CIPP/E, Bernieri Consulting.
