We publish an infographic summarizing in legal design style the main privacy obligations emerging from the Italian Code of Conduct on telemarketing and teleselling adopted by the Garante.
On March 24, 2023, the Italian Privacy Authority adopted the new “Code of Conduct for Telemarketing and Teleselling Activities” as a self-disciplinary tool for operators engaged in the promotion and/or offer of goods and services via telephone through call centers.
The new Italian Code of Conduct was created with the aim of contributing to the correct application of telemarketing regulations and the dissemination of consumer protection principles and measures among call centers and other operators in the sector.ย Specifically, with the new Code of Conduct, the Italian Data Protection Authority intends to transpose the principles and protections already established in the past, bringing together the multiple legislative and sanctioning interventions of recent years, including the most recent regulations on call centers and the oppositions register.
In this infographic, we summarize the basic principles and key rules under the privacy regulations and the recently approved related code that businesses that choose the telephone as the medium for their telemarketing and teleselling commercial communications and call center operators must consider when deciding to call users to offer them goods and/or services.
