The tech gurus in Milan are very excited since next week-end there will be the Wired Next Fest which will cover some of the most relevant technology matters currently discussed. ย Interestingly some of such legal issues have been covered in my articles on this blog.
Below is the list of my personal top 5 sessions at Wired Next Fest based on the program of the event available on theirย site:
1. The network that changes the reality (la rete che cambia la realtร )
How following comments on Facebook, users convinced the manufacturer of a type of ice-cream which had been taken out of the market to restart its production. ย The issues relating to the liability of conducts performed on social networks has been covered in several posts on this blog both with reference toย general principlesย and through its implementation in recent cases involvingย Facebook page managersย and evenย TripAdvisor usersย up to the more recent dispute involving comments onย unnamed persons on Facebook.
2. Silicon Italy: how to get on the digital platforms (Silicon Italy: come salire sulle piattaforme digitali)
Can the Californian experience of start-ups can be reproduced in Italy? Should Italy just reproduce what had been done in the US or try to follow its own approach.ย The fostering of the start-up sector is something on which Italy has been extensively working lately with for instance newย funding initiatives for start-ups, the introduction ofย crowdfundingย and considerable tax benefits for them.
3. Fashion and Food: how blogs are relevant (Fashion e Food: quanto tira il blog)
Issues relating to the importance of blogs in the fashion and food industry was even an event arranged by my law firm named #Fashionline whose main giveaways are summarised in thisย post.
4. Gamification: let’s play to do business (Gamification: giochiamo a fare business)
How games have been relevant as part of marketing initiatives and on the other hand ย how Italian laws on prize competitions especially if run on social media areย restrictiveย even though such restrictions according to someone might be waived because in breach of European laws.
5. Big Food: the new era of cognitive computing (Big Food: la nuova era del cognitive computing), The artificial intelligence and the second age of machines (L’intelligenza artificiale e la seconda etร delle macchine) and Soft robotic: soft circuits (Soft robotic: circuiti di morbidezza)
Cognitive computing and the possibility to interact with them and take advantage from the information they collect is one of my favourite topics which is linked to the Internet of Things. ย How machines can collect information about us in order to give us a better services has been covered not only in general terms in thispostย but also specifically with reference toย wearable technologiesย andย eHealth. ย The relevance of the Internet of Things and its subsectors is confirmed by the fact that Wired arranged 3 sessions on them!
There are lots of other very interesting sessions, including an interesting session onย big data, but the above are my top 5 sessions, I hope you will enjoy them! And as usual feel free to contact me,ย Giulio Coraggio(giulio.coraggio@gmail.com), to discuss. ย And follow me on myย Facebook page,ย Twitter,ย Google+ย and become one of my friends onย LinkedIn.
