With almost one year of delay and following lots of pressure from the industry, AAMS has now set the launch date for online slots in Italy.
Indeed AAMS has just published new new guidelines on casino games (including online slots), poker games and skill games and a new decree setting out the process to have such games authorised by AAMS.
The most interesting news is though that the authorization decree provided that applications to have online slots approved can be already filed, but as occurred for cash poker and the other casino games different from online slots, operators will be allowed to launch online slots at the same time to avoid a competitive advantage to the fastest operators. Starting from December 2012 on the first and third Monday of the month, operators will be allowed to launch online slots provided that such games have been previously approved by AAMS.
Therefore the 3rd of December will be a very important date for the Italian online gaming market and all the operators are going to struggle during these months in order to get ready for that date.
