I am delighted to inform you that my firm DLA Piper will be running a conference (totally free) named “Sports betting in Italy: how to reverse the decline? Countries in comparison for a possible solution” on the 10th of December 2013 in Rome at the Hotel Boscolo Exedra – Michelangelo meeting room, Piazza Della Repubblica No. 47, at 9:30 am.
The online sports betting sector in Italy is facing a crisis mainly due to the excessive tax burden based on turnover, to the restrictions on the value of winnings and to the limited offering that is constrained by a number of administrative approvals. By contrast, in countries such as the UK, the online sports betting market is considerably growing. The speakers will explore the reasons of such crisis also in light of the experience gained from other jurisdictions trying to identify a possible solution.
As part of the event is held in Italian language, a simultaneous translation service is granted and therefore no language issue should arise. Also, the event will be totally free, but given the limited availability, please register sending an email to eventi@dlapiper.com.
Below is the program of the event and if you have any question feel free to contact me, Giulio Coraggio (giulio.coraggio@gmail.com). Also usual follow me on Twitter, Google+ and become one of my friends on LinkedIn
. Following the conference, the slides of the presentation from the University of Milan will be available here.
