This month I had the pleasure to interview for my law firm's fashion law magazine Law à la Mode, Davide Viganò, the CEO of Heapsylon, the creators of the wearable technology Sensoria Fitness that might change the Internet of Things sector! Davide is a very interesting person and is Italian (which is even better!) living in Seattle, I hope you will enjoy the interview.
Wearables are increasingly used in the healthcare sector with new eHealth applications launched every other day, but medical devices regulations might be the real obstacle to their growth.
$ 3 billion will be spent in 2014 on 10 million units of wearable technologies according to a Deloitte report, but the potentials of this market can be seen also through the attempts by tech companies to patent anything connected to them, including the heart gesture made in front of Google Glasses so setting a new approach for the Internet of Things!
€ 1.3 bn is the value of sales from Italian fashion websites in 2013 with an increase year by year of 30+% and considerable potentials for further growth since it represents only 20% of the total value of the Italian B2C e-commerce sector. These are some of the topics together with wearable technology issues impacting on the Internet of Things covered in the very interesting #Fashiononline event that took place in Milan (Italy).
On Friday 24 January 2014 at 9.15, we will be holding a very interesting event named #FASHIONLINE - Fashion bloggers, e-commerce & wearable technology issues in collaboration with Borsa Italiana (the Milan stock exchange) in Milan at Palazzo Mezzanotte.
